Last week when the model didn't show up the prof gave us homework: sketch faces. These are a couple I did from a Saks catalog (thanks to Mary who saves them for me!)

We had the same model today as the Monday, which was fine...it forced me to do things differently so I wouldn't wind up with a bunch of the same drawings. I made the one above a bit cartoony.
The above was a five minute gesture that I liked.

I have two up at school for critique...hopefully when I return they will still be there!!

So, remember that drawing I was teasing everyone about in the last entry? The one that was up for critique? Well, it's gone. Last week I showed up for class and the drawing (my favorite so far) was nowhere to be found :-( I guess someone either really liked it or really hated it. Anyway, that's just mean. Maybe it will miraculously return but I'm pretty sure it's long gone...

Well, here are some drawings I did last night. I was a little rusty after having Spring Break off and last week we had a model not show up...but here they are, nonetheless.

So, the head on this one ^ is too small, but I do like the line work.

If anyone knows the whereabouts of "The Missing Drawing" contact Crime Stoppers today!

This is one that I really love the composition...it's the one that was up last week for critique.

The ones below I did last night in studio. I'm starting to abstract/stylize/distort the figure. I really liked one that I did last night but it's up for critique so you're just going to have to wait until after Spring Break....oooh, the suspense! For now, enjoy these....

I like the figure on this last one but the colors disturb me.

A couple drawings from last night's studio. We had our mid-term review yesterday and the prof. said that I was was farther along than most people in the class and some who choose this as a profession! Cool.

Ugh. We had the same boring guy that I was talking about earlier last night. I tried to make it interesting but I just wasn't feeling it. I got one good drawing out of last night but unfortunately I don't have it. It is up at school because on Wednesday nights we have critique. The above sketches are mediocre. I guess I thought the most interesting thing about him was his feet...I don't know.

The ones below were up at school for the last critique we had so I just got them back last night. I really like the bottom one.
